Pump Controlled Pressure Maintenance

The operation principals of pump controlled pressure maintenance are that pumps are used to control the pressure on the water side.  If the set pressure is exceeded, the overflow valve opens and releases water air from the system into the pressure-less expansion vessel, where it also releases any dissolved gases.  If the system pressure falls below the programmed setting, the pump activates and conveys water from the expansion vessel into the system.

The key features and advantages of the Reflex Variomat pumped pressurisation unit are:

  • Reliable pressure maintenance within tight limits.

  • Atmospheric degassing of system water for long term operational safety, and elimination of mechanical air separators.

  • Single or duplex pump driven units for up to 24MW system capacity.

  • Expansion vessels from 200L to 5,000L, with options for multiple secondary vessels to be added.

  • Operation up to 13.5bar system pressure.

  • Master-slave operation for critical applications

  • Automatic water make-up.

The following video demonstrates the features, benefits and advantages of using the Variomat unit for dynamic pressure maintenance and atmospheric degassing.

Pump controlled pressure maintenance is also now available in combination with a vacuum degasser for even more efficient degassing of the system.  The Reflex Servimat range is available in two models for small to medium size applications and static head pressures up to 6.5bar.
